WELCOME TO CITY OF SALFORD SWIMMING CLUB

HOME GROWN TALENT - HERE IN SALFORD

WE TAKE LEARN TO SWIM GRADUATES TO THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE!

In partnership with Salford Community Leisure (SCL), City of Salford Swimming Club operates across many Salford leisure centres to develop swimmers from SCL’s post-lesson Academies. The Academies bridge the gap to the Competitive Training Scheme where we have 6 groups leading through County, Regional, National and International standard.

We are proud to take local swimmers to the international stage, led by renowned Head Coach John Stout. The Club exists and operates to support swimmers both in and (mainly) out of the pool to give every swimmer the best possible chance to reach their potential.

the salford ethos - each & every day

eight of our biggest valUes

WORK ETHIC

No sport requires more physical effort than swimming. Lesser “talents” can outwork (over the long haul) the more talented athlete.

SELF-CONFIDENCE & DISCIPLINE

Each athlete learns that they can achieve and that they can struggle and overcome adversity daily.

SPORTSMANSHIP

We teach the lesson that everyone has their “moment in the sun” and that we compete with and not against others.

DEDICATION

Swimmers learn as they grow older that one cannot be “all things all the time” and that some sacrifices have to made to achieve in other areas.

DELAYED GRATIFICATION

Swimmers learn that the season (the year, the career) is long, and no one short term result can be called success or failure. What you do in practice today will show up in a week, a month, six months, a year

GENDER EQUALITY

Both male and female athletes are on par in the pool – constantly training and working together to push each other.

FRIENDSHIP & RESPECT

Everyone sees others go through ups & downs of the sport. Training and competition is built on those around us.

COMPASSION & APPRECIATION

Mum and Dad keep you swimming. Coach teaches and inspires you. Swimmers learn they stand on other people’s shoulders to achieve. Great life lessons.
